Mental Health Urgent Care
Mental Health Urgent Care (MHUC) is at 1 South Prospect Street, Burlington, VT.
Hours: Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 pm
Access: No appointment is needed; walk-ins are welcome. Free parking and easy access by public transportation.
It is an in-person option for adults over the age of 18 who:
- Are experiencing mental health concerns or distress.
- Have complex diagnoses, including intellectual disability, substance use disorder, or traumatic brain injury.
- Are in a suicide crisis.
- Have co-occurring medical conditions.
- Need immediate peer support.
At MHUC, you can access:
- Mental Health Support Services: Immediate mental health assessment, support, stabilization, brief interventions, and safety planning.
- Peer Support: Compassionate care from trained peer support specialists.
- Medical Care: Medical assessments and care, wound care, health education, and chronic disease management.
- Care Management: Referrals to community resources, assistance with medications, and follow-up care.

Community Center
Drop-in Peer Support: Monday through Friday from 10am-1pm at the Pathways Vermont Community Center, 279 N. Winooski Ave, Burlington: The Community Center offers drop-in peer support with our various staff. Swing by to connect with our staff, availability on a first come first serve basis.
Weekly facilitated Peer Support Zoom Groups include Laughter Yoga, Hearing Voices, Writing Circle, and Anxiety Relief Group. These groups are open to anyone over 18, and are facilitated by Pathways staff and volunteers. Click the button below for details and a calendar of events on the Community Center page.
Rosewood Cottage Peer Respite
The Pathways Vermont Peer Respite, Rosewood Cottage, is a voluntary, short-term, overnight program that provides community-based emotional support and crisis relief in a home-like environment. Rosewood Cottage is available to Vermonters 18 and over for short stays (up to 7 nights).
Housing First
We participate in Coordinated Entry, which provides referrals from local communities. The Housing and Homelessness Alliance provides a list of resources. Contact the lead agency in your area to get started.
Pathways Vermont Housing First Team’s are active in the following Vermont counties: Franklin, Chittenden, Addison, Washington, Windsor, Windham, and Bennington. Our transitional housing partnership with the Department of Corrections extends to Lamoille and Rutland counties.
Soteria House
To apply to receive services at Soteria House, please access our secure inquiry form for the residential program. Applications are received and reviewed on a rolling basis. All of your responses are secure and confidential. Once your application has been received, a member of the Soteria House team will contact you within 1 business day. Please note that main line staff do not have information about the status of applications.
