Staff Spotlight – Meet Emilie!

Hi – I’m Emilie!

I am someone who loves nature and who has a dedication to supporting positive social change. In my free time, I enjoy cooking, hiking, and nature photography.

I have been a Peer Support Staff member on the overnight shift at Rosewood Cottage for about a month now. My role is to create a welcoming environment where I engage in peer support with the people who come to stay at the peer respite. A shift at Rosewood Cottage can include any number of activities depending on the interests of the individuals staying at the respite. Often, this includes having meaningful conversations, creating artwork, listening to music, enjoying meals, and being present with one another.

I am inspired by the variety of programs at Pathways that provide accessible and equitable services to those who need them most within our communities. I am grateful to be a part of an organization that prioritizes Permanent Supportive Housing and mental health services that emphasize holistic support for every individual.

I am motivated to come to work every day because of a desire to make a positive impact on other people. This shows up most frequently in small interactions, like having a cup of tea with a guest, connecting over a shared love of flowers, or being present when someone needs a listening ear.

My experience at Pathways Vermont so far has been great! I have felt welcomed by everyone I’ve met, especially my colleagues and supervisors at Rosewood Cottage. I look forward to continuing to meet more of my colleagues who work in different programs and contributing to the Pathways Vermont community through my role at Rosewood Cottage.
