Hi – I’m Dan!
I would describe myself as motivated, empathetic, trustworthy, and someone who puts others first. I started working at Pathways Vermont in an employment support role in 2019. I am currently the Services Manager for the North, overseeing all operations for Addison, Chittenden, Franklin, and Rutland counties. The team ends homelessness and institutionalization for Vermonters while supporting health, wellness, and community integration goals.
I supervise local team leaders, cultivate and maintain regional service partnerships within their geographic scope, and ensure excellent service delivery to local participants. I work closely with our Housing First Director to provide oversight and work towards overall program goals and Housing First fidelity and efficacy.
I am inspired by Pathways Vermont’s mission to end homelessness and provide innovative mental health alternatives because of the effort, compassion, sweat, and tears that this organization provides to our community. The fact that we pride ourselves on lived experience when we hire has a positive impact when we are working with clients with no judgment. We have all struggled with one thing or another and bringing that to the table is very helpful so we can relate with program participants. Making sure that someone is housed and having that “safe space” to come home to is crucial.
Over the years, seeing so many of our clients holding keys to their first-ever apartment with such bright smiles on their faces really warms my heart. The phrase I use is “welcome home.”
The staff that I work with on a daily basis are really what keeps me coming back to work, even on the hard days. Staff morale is key for me, as we can’t do this work without them! This work can be tough, demanding, happy, sad, etc., so we all need one another to lean on and lift us up when we are down or tell us we are doing a great job.
