Meet Vladimir!

Vladimir describes himself as social, helpful, and generous. He grew up with a passion for circus performance and traveled the world with the Moscow Circus before settling down in Vermont in 1991.

Vladimir first connected with Pathways Vermont after a lengthy stay in corrections. “It was through Pathways’ Department of Corrections Program that I found a new beginning,” Vladimir shares.

In 2022, after being released from incarceration, Vladimir moved into his first Pathways apartment. “I remember meeting Lauren and Suzanne from the Department of Corrections team at my apartment. They helped me settle in, and I felt a sense of support and community.

Pathways helped me with everything—securing housing, getting to my appointments, and offering peer support. But beyond the practical help, it was the relationships I formed with them that meant the most. I always looked forward to our meetings, where we would spend time talking and just being together.”

Since moving into his permanent apartment this year, Vladimir has continued working with Pathways. “I tell everyone I meet about Pathways before they even can ask. I tell them that Pathways helped me find a good, quiet apartment and helped secure the subsidy to make it affordable.”

Looking ahead, Vladimir is excited to continue planning visits with his family in Minneapolis and to settle into his apartment and truly make it his own. He is passionate about gardening, caring for his pet fish, going for walks, and cooking.
